Swedish Midsummer Language Activities & More

Social Midsummer Language activities.jpg

If you’re teaching your kids Swedish abroad - then you’ll love these Midsummer infused language activities: A story book, an activity book and a writing and vocabulary kit.

With all the uncertainty the last couple of months have brought us -its easy to loose track of the days, or months even! So I'm here to remind you that Midsummer is coming soon, yay! And since most of us won't get a chance to travel to Sweden to celebrate this year I’ve created the next best thing: Fun Midsummer language activities and a story for our bilingual kids!

The Swedish Midsummer Activity Book

To make it a little easier to share the Midsummer magic with our bilingual kids - I’ve created a Swedish Midsummer activity book I know they'll love.

It contains everything you need to build your very own flip book about the Swedish Midsummer: colouring pages with text, a secret flap for Midsummer favourites, a bilingual memo game/cue cards set and so much more.

Your kids will have so much fun getting stuck in colouring, cutting and glueing they won’t even notice how much Swedish they learn. And did I mention the illustrations are gorgeous?

Watch the video below to see what your could make together this Midsummer, and then hop over to my shop to buy your copy.

Midsummer Words Writing Kit

Then, I made something really special for the kids who’re learning to read and write: a Midsummer Words Writing and Vocabulary Kit.

It will take your kids from confidence building letter tracing, to writing the whole words in both Swedish and English. Perfect for our bilingual kids!

And to be sure that the new Midsummer vocabulary sticks, there’s a fun bilingual memo game/ cue cards to play with.

If you’d like to teach your kids more Swedish and give them something fun to do this summer, buy and download your kit now.

Midsummer Story Book

Then, why not read them a lovely story about the Dog Who Saved Midsummer’s Eve - hunden som räddade midsommarafton?

This bilingual book is available as a print at home version from my shop and as paperback from Amazon. USA and UK.

The story will introduce your kids to everything from traditional Midsummer flowers, to what you eat at a Swedish Midsummer party. And don’t worry - the dog Kasper gets to taste some, too.

I hope you’ve found something your kids will love - please don’t forget to drop me a note and let me know what your kids thought about it :)

Ha det gott och Trevlig Midsommar!
